#63: screwing mother nature
Picture without recriminations
chasing blood soaked dollar bills
heedless to the pitiful cries
of squirrels voles and rabbits dangling
caught by whirring chainsaws

pink cheeked from across the room
this banker in dismissive suit
positively boasting

"the science that we do my friends
environmental management
our machines and men are
paving over what remains
building bigger more efficient
multi level parking lots"

"our financial wisdom
unmistakeable and plain –
profits pave the way"

understand we do not care
how animals are maimed
sacrificed for stultifying
suburb strip and shopping malls

apparently devoid
of any feeling or compassion
their brains are like dirigibles
empty shells all bloated and
pumped up by hot air

filling in the fertile wetlands
bulldozing and wiping out
the balance of ecologies
bankers now on wild sprees
screwing mother nature
