art boy waxes artfully
wriggles out a complicated
portrait of himself

pulled from archives arcane mixtures
real dead arty bone shop scriptures
notions of an illinois jacquet like
spoken word musician

he wants to know what lies beneath
the truth that rides up underneath
an emptiness that hides beneath
the snake pit of his soul

seemingly a giant blur
in this invisible studio
dionysus pokes around
keeps him on his toes

cognizant that he's heartbroken
everyday he starts to play
on the shadow concertina
in a strangely haunting way
